Forsakar Waterfall, Sweden

Forsakar Waterfall, Sweden

Forsakar is the largest waterfall in the south of Sweden.

Watch our video for a view of this amazing nature.

Forsakar is a ravine in the eastern slope of Linderödsåsen at Degeberga in Kristianstad municipality , where Forsakarsbäcken forms Skåne ‘s two highest waterfalls.

The upper fall has a fall height of 7.4 meters and the lower, which is divided by a ledge, has a fall height of 10.6 meters. The ledge, “the tub”, has given rise to the name Forsakar. An open-air swimming pool is located near the gorge. Also nearby is the Trollelier gorge with Degeberga local history park. Forsakar with Lillaforsskogen is a nature reserve and natura 2000 area. Nature is mainly allowed to develop freely, therefore almost no trees are felled.

Most trees that have been blown down may remain to benefit biodiversity .

This means that the four woodpecker species cuckoo , crow , greater woodpecker and lesser woodpecker thrive in the reserve.

The red and white marked path follows the ravine edge.

The path passes on the south side of the ravine a viewing platform where you can see the lower fall from above.
