YangTorp, A Chinese Sanctuary In Sweden

Would you belive me if I said that there is a Chinese sanctuary located in the woods outside Hörby in the south of sweden?

Well there is and its called Yangtorp.

Yangtorp is a Buddhist qigong temple outside Hörby . 

Marcus Bongart started the construction of the temple in the 1990s with great financial support from the ABBA member Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

Bongart founded the temple to introduce his form of the Chinese tradition called qigong in southern Sweden. 

But the construction of the temple took a long time and ended up in a dispute with Lyngstad over SEK 40 million, but Bongart won the dispute. 

During this legal process, many thefts took place, the temple fell into disrepair and Bongart was convicted of bookkeeping violations .

This contributed to Yangtorp being sold in 2013 and the new owner began to complete the facility, which eventually opened in 2015, still with Marcus Bongart on the board.
